All I can remember about Bobby Darin's music, was when I was 6-16 years of age(1972-1982) my father had an 8 track tape player in his boat and the only 2 tapes that I can remember was That's All and Love Swings. Because I remember Mack the Knife playing. Also, I remember the word Gunga din in a song and I didn't understand why that word was in the song. Plus, I remember BD in that captain's hat because my father had one. But upon listening to all of this songs that I have purchased recently, I have this weird feeling about some of them. That I remember them on some different conscious level and it is a strange feeling that I guess I can only relate them to my father because talking with my sister that he was the only one in the house that really liked BD's music.
But watching Beyond the Sea (Nov. 2006) with KS, I really heard BD's music for the first time and sought out for more information, you know, since KS told you to go find out about BD for yourself. So, I did. And what a ride it has been. I am enjoying it more and more. So, I want to throw a THANX out to Kevin Spacey for his throwing down the challenge. Not too many directors can do that. Thanks Kev. |
